Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in my NANN conference registration?

As a registered attendee, you will be able to:
Please note:

What types of credit can be claimed by attending this conference, after completing the session and overall evaluations?

NANN is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. The only credit offered is nursing contact hours. Any non-nurse associated members or attendees may or may not be able to utilize this credit type and should confirm with their certifying or accrediting body if nursing contact hours meet their educational needs.

What can I expect at this year's NANN After Dark?

An evening filled with upbeat music, great company, and dancing. It’s a night to celebrate our journey thus far and look forward to a bright future together.

What should I wear to this year's NANN After Dark?

The NANN After Dark 40th Anniversary Ruby Jubilee is all about celebrating our journey together, so let your imagination run wild. Whether you go for a full-on red gown or tuxedo or just add a splash of red with accessories, the goal is to have fun and express your unique style.

What time zone is the event based on?

All times listed are in Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4). Be sure to select your preferred timezone in your platform profile to view the conference in the timezone that's best for you.

How does NANN choose the annual meeting location?

Several factors go into deciding where our annual meeting location is held. Accessibility, conference facilities, survey feedback, and attendee preferences all play a role in our decision-making process.

Why did NANN choose to hold the conference in a controvercial location such as Florida?

There are many factors that go into a conference site selection, which typically happens about 3 to 5 years in advance of a meeting. NANN has significant membership in Florida and states with similar laws. Since NANN members play a huge role in navigating the care of patients and families in marginalized communities, hosting meetings in these states will happen on occasion. We hope our meeting will make a positive impact and difference in the lives of neonatal nurses, patients, and their families.

Orlando is one of the most diverse and welcoming cities in Florida and much of NANN’s economic impact goes toward supporting that welcoming environment. To further this impact, we'll be sharing BIPOC/LGBTQ+/Women owned restaurants and business for attendees to frequent during the week as another way of supporting groups that are line with NANN's values. We will also have a program called Social Offset, which will facilitate donation of funds to local organizations that are line with NANN's beliefs/DEI commitment, which includes reproductive rights and access to health care.

It’s our hope that hosting the meeting in Florida and celebrating the diverse welcoming environment there, while also encouraging donations to groups that fund women’s rights, will support those in need and the movement toward freedom and equality for all.
How is NANN promoting diversity and supporting the local community at conference?

As part of the NANN 40th Annual Conference, we're partnering with SocialOffset to provide attendees with the opportunity to support local organizations that address hunger relief, LGTBQ+ equality, reproductive freedom, and racial justice. Everyone is encouraged to participate and make a positive impact. For more information, visit our SocialOffset page.

How long will the conference content be available?

All content will be immediately available for on-demand access through this site through December 31, 2024. After conference dates, access the sessions by logging in and selecting the "On-Demand Sessions" button on the home page. Please note, some sessions will be recorded onsite and will be uploaded to the conference website within two weeks post-conference. No conference sessions will be live streamed.

How do I build my schedule?

View the full schedule and select the star icon next to each session you wish to attend. Clicking on the "My Schedule" button (coming soon) will allow you to view your schedule, see how many CE you will earn after attending each, take notes, as well as add a personal reminder to your calendar for the sessions you plan to attend.

How do I complete a conference evaluation?

CE hours will be available at the start of each live session September 18-20, 2024. You can access your CE and evaluations via the "CE/Evaluations" button on left-hand navigation. You must complete the session evaluations and overall conference evaluation to access your CE certificate. CE must be claimed by December 31, 2024.

Will all conference sessions be accessible on the virtual platform?

All recorded sessions will be available on-demand via the conference platform. The NANN Member Busines Meeting will be available to members only following conference. No conference sessions will be live streamed.

How do I ask the speaker a question?

In the session pop up, tap on the Q&A button and ask your question. Speakers will receive a notification and respond in a timely manner. Speakers will respond to questions through September 21.

What if I am ready to join a session but the Video button is grayed out?

If the video button is grayed out at the start time of a session, try refreshing the page or making sure you are logged in. Sessions will become available at their in-person scheduled time.

I can see the Q&A feature, but I do not see the presentation video.

Click the "Back" button at the top of the chat box. Once you are in the session pop up, click on the "Video" button. The presentation video will now appear in a window with the Q&A feature.

How can I send messages to other attendees?

When you complete your attendee profile, in the networking tab, check: “Share your profile with attendees and exhibitors?”. Then you will be able to send and receive messages via chat within the conference platform. Your email address will not be shared. To begin a chat with an attendee, click on their profile photo and select the chat icon at the top of the pop-up. In the conference app, select the "Connect with Attendees" icon, choose an attendee, then select "send message" at the bottom of the screen.

I am unable to hear any sound.

If you are unable to hear any sound at all, be sure your speakers are turned on, and your audio volume is not muted or too low within the recording window.

The presentation slides or screen appear blurry.

If the slides or a speaker appear blurry at any point, it may be an internet connectivity issue. If you know that your connection is good, and after you refresh your screen, the images are still distorted, the issues are with the speaker’s connectivity.

What are the technical requirements needed to access the conference platform?

For the best experience during NANN's conference, please use Google Chrome, enable pop-ups on your browser, and do not connect through a VPN.

I joined the wrong session, can I change the recording I'm watching?

Yes, you may switch between the on-demand session recordings at any time. The content will become availabe after the live session has occured.

How do I access the conference mobile app?

The mobile app is typically available the week before the in-person conference. At that time, instructions will be added here and attendees will be notified.
