Dr. White-Traut is the Director of Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice at Children's Wisconsin. She developed and tested the H-HOPE intervention. H-HOPE improves infant and maternal outcomes as well as mother-infant interaction. Infants experience improved behavior, feeding, growth, shorter length of hospital stay, and less illness after hospital discharge. Mothers experience an increase in oxytocin and improved confidence in care. Patterns of mother-infant interaction also improve following H-HOPE.
