Dr. Heather Olivier earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of New Orleans, her Master of Science in Counseling at Southeastern Louisiana University, and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Louisiana State University. Dr. Olivier is a licensed professional counselor and a national certified counselor with specialized certifications in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and as a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP). As a clinician within the first perinatal mental collective in the state of Louisiana and trained in Brainspotting (Phase 2), Dr. Olivier utilizes the psychosomatic approach in her clinical work to focus on clients experiencing symptoms resulting from trauma, reproductive loss, and grief. She has presented her award-winning dissertation research at international, national, and state conferences, and will continue with her research agenda as an assistant professor in the counseling graduate program at Southeastern Louisiana University. Dr. Olivier also serves the state of Louisiana as a member of the Louisiana Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review committee within the department of health.
