Dr. Victoria Rodriguez (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Orleans, Louisiana in the United States. She completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of New Orleans in 2023. She was named the 2023 Outstanding Doctoral Student by the Gamma chapter of the international counseling honors society Chi Sigma Iota. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), she specializes in treating medical trauma and healthcare professionals experiencing vicarious medical trauma in her private practice. Additionally, she serves on the Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review board with the Louisiana Department of Health where she shares her expertise on medical trauma and community mental health initiatives. As an instructor with Nicholls State University in Louisiana, her research focuses on home-based counseling and community mental health as well as theory-application gaps when treating trauma in these settings. She is a co-recipient of an ACES 2023 Research Grant by the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision to continue her dissertation research on the supervision needs of community-based counselors. Dr. Rodriguez provides specialty training and continuing education for community mental health agencies throughout the United States and has presented her research on community health gaps both nationally and internationally.
