Jennifer Rivera, DNP, APRN, ACCNS-N, RNC-NIC is a Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist at Children’s Minnesota, Minneapolis Hospital with 30 years of experience in neonatology at all levels of care. At Children’s, Dr. Rivera provides clinical practice expertise, consultation, and education across the care continuum improving outcomes for patients, nurses, and systems.
Dr. Rivera believes the Clinical Nurse Specialist is the hub of the healthcare team, building bridges with interdisciplinary partners to advance innovation in the care of the neonate, elevate professional nursing practice, and transform organizational systems and processes.
Dr. Rivera has served on the ACCNS-N Exam Development Committee for the American Association of Critical Care Nurses; as an abstract reviewer for the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists Annual Conference; and was part of the NANN Taskforce to review Education Standards, Curriculum Guidelines, and Competencies for the Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist. She currently serves as faculty for the Small Baby Care Specialist™ Program lecturing about infection prevention and as a neonatal clinical content reviewer for Lippincott Procedures.
