Clinical Nurse Specialist
Children's Hospital Colorado

Victoria del Valle is the Clinical Nurse Specialist for the NICU at the Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs. She received her MSN from UCCS in 2006 and her Post-Master’s Certificates in Nursing Informatics and Neonatal CNS from UC Denver in 2008 and from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2010, respectively. Creating a central line dressing change team and a central line dressing change kit was Victoria’s CNS practicum project. The number of CLABSI went down from 10 in 2009 to 5 in 2010. The number continued to decrease and was down to 1 in 2014 and none in 2019.
