Lynn D Mohr PhD APRN PCNS-BC CPN FCNS is an Associate Professor/Department Chair, Women, Children, Family Nursing at Rush University College of Nursing and serves as Program Director of the Pediatric and Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Programs. Dr. Mohr holds a PhD in Nursing Science from Rush University, MS in Nursing from the University of Kansas, BS in nursing from South Dakota State and a diploma in nursing from St. Luke’s School of Nursing. She has been a certified pediatric clinical nurse specialist for the past 21 years and is an expert in pediatric nursing and the role of the clinical nurse specialist. She has an extensive leadership background in the role of manager and consultant in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Mohr has published numerous articles, and presents at national conferences on pediatric nursing, the role of the clinical nurse specialist and adolescents experiencing an ostomy. She has written several opinion editorials on pediatric care issues, some of which have been printed in the Washington Post. She is a member of several nursing organizations and has served in several organizational leadership positions including the past National President of the Society of Pediatric Nursing (SPN). Dr. Mohr has received numerous accolades for her teaching and knowledge of the CNS role. She has received the Excellence in Advanced Practice Award, SPN; Excellence in Mentoring Award, Rush University; and the Educator of the Year and the Susan B. Davidson Service Award from National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS). Dr. Mohr is an elected Fellow in the Illinois Institute of Medicine, Overseas Fellow in the Royal Academy of Medicine, London England, and a Fellow of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Institute.
