Nikki Wilborn has been a neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) since January 2018 in a 146-bed Level IV NICU and a 14-bed Level III NICU. Nikki remains an active participant in educational opportunities. Nikki also participates in several differing committee groups to provide a framework for clinical guidelines. As site lead NNP from 2021- 2023, Mrs. Wilborn identified clinical concerns for care by hospital staff, NNPs, or physicians, worked with the site medical director to facilitate solutions, active participation, and visibility with nursing leadership, developed orientation scheduling and monthly evaluations, collaborated with region lead NNP to address personnel issues, concerns, and group needs and identified educational needs within the NNP group.
Nikki has been married to her best friend for 14 years, and together they have 3 sons ages 16, 13, and 10, and 4 dogs, two miniature schnauzer, a french bulldog, and a miniature australian shepherd. When Mrs. Wilborn isn't at work, she enjoys spending time with her family (including her dog family), traveling, swimming, baking, making candles, and her new found love of crocheting.
