Michelle is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with 21 years of experience in regional and tertiary NICUs as a clinical nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist. Michelle enjoys collaborating within the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional family-centered care, educating colleagues on current evidence-based best practices and leading quality improvement initiatives. Michelle has led education initiatives and participated in many evidence-based, quality improvement projects in the NICU and Newborn Nursery, including education on neurodevelopment, infection reduction, hypoglycemia, newborn resuscitation, and thermoregulation. Michelle has been the program lead for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) in both the regional and academic hospital settings and is a current NRP and STABLE instructor, continuing to provide these valuable programs to community practitioners. Michelle currently serves as a liaison on the NRP Steering Committee and was a contributing author for the 8th edition of the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation. Michelle enjoys teaching, simulation, and embraces technology and innovation, striving to make every educational opportunity a valued experience for the learner.
