Central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI) are preventable hospital acquired conditions which contribute to morbidity and mortality in the neonatal population along with increased hospital costs and length of stay. The identification of best practice interventions from national benchmarking and a robust literature review led to clearly defined opportunities for practice change within a multidisciplinary team. Join us on an exciting journey to Target Zero harm for NICU patients!

Learning Outcome(s):

At the conclusion of this presentation, the learner will be able to:
  1. Upon completion, participant will be able to identify CLABSI reduction strategies to implement within their healthcare setting.
  2. Upon completion, participant will be able to identify strategies to engage bedside team members and the multidisciplinary team to take part in a quality improvement project requiring continued participation.
